Day 1: Moshi to Umbwe Gate to Umbwe Camp

Start your journey with a drive to the Umbwe Gate. After registration, begin trekking through the lush rainforest, where you may spot various wildlife and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Evening:

Arrive at Umbwe Camp, where you'll enjoy dinner and spend the night under the stars.

Day 2: Umbwe Camp to Barranco Camp

Distance: Approximately 10 km (6.2 miles)

Elevation Gain: 2,850m to 3,950m

Set out after breakfast as you make your way towards Barranco Camp. The trek is steep and demanding, but the stunning views make it worthwhile.

Evening:

At Barranco Camp, enjoy a hearty meal while taking in views of the majestic Kilimanjaro and unwind for the night.

Day 3: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Distance: Approximately 7 km (4.4 miles)
Duration: 4-5 hours
Elevation Gain: 3,950m to 4,000m

Today begins with a climb up the Barranco Wall, a favorite challenging section for trekkers. Upon reaching the top, enjoy scenic views before descending towards Karanga Camp.

Evening:

After settling in, have dinner at Karanga Camp and rest for the next day’s adventure.

Day 4: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Distance: Approximately 13 km (8 miles)
Duration: 5-6 hours
Elevation Gain: 4,000m to 4,600m

Trek from Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp, which serves as the base for your upcoming summit attempt. The landscape begins to change as you ascend higher into the alpine environment.

Evening:

After dinner, prepare your gear for the summit push and rest for a very early start the following day.

Day 5: Barafu Camp to Summit and Descent to Mweka Camp

Distance: Approximately 22 km (13.7 miles) round trip
Duration: 12-15 hours
Elevation Gain: 4,600m to 5,895m and back to 3,100m

Leave Barafu Camp in the early morning hours to begin your ascent to Uhuru Peak. Witness the breathtaking sunrise as you reach the summit, and enjoy the magnificent views from the rooftop of Africa.

Descent:

After enjoying your time at the summit, descend back down to Mweka Camp for a well-deserved meal and a good night's sleep.

Day 6: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
